Christie's Take

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 6 medium apples

  • 2 teaspoons oil , such as vegetable, canola, sunflower, olive

  • 1 to 2 tablespoons melted dairy-free butter , or refined coconut oil (or maple syrup)

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (if you used maple syrup instead of butter use 1 tablespoon)

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon , or apple pie/pumpkin pie spice

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Core the apples and cut into ¼ inch thick wedges or slices. I prefer to leave the peel on. Peel if you prefer though.

  • Put the apple slices into a bowl and toss with the oil.

  • Tip into your air fryer, spread into a single layer and air fry on 400°F for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden and soft. Give them a little shake halfway. All air fryers cook a little differently so keep an eye on them.

  • When done remove the apples from the air fryer and spoon back into the bowl from earlier.

  • Add the melted butter, sugar and cinnamon and stir well to coat the apples.

  • Serve immediately.

NOTES

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. They can also be frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat in an oven-proof dish in your air fryer (350°F for 3 to 4 minutes), in a pan on the stovetop, or in a microwave. Add a little more vegan butter, maple syrup, or a drop of water to moisten them up if necessary.
